Anibal Catalan

Anibal Catalan (b. Iguala, Mexico 1973) works across media including painting, drawing, sculpture, video and site-specific installation, occupying a unique visual and conceptual territory, which falls somewhere in between that of the Russian Avante-Garde and the radical architecture of the Deconstructivist movement, born in the late 1960s.

Since 2003, Catalan has exhibited individually across Mexico, the United States, South Korea, and China and in group exhibitions all over the world. His work is part of the collections of the Museo de Arte Moderno, Mexico City, Mexico; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico; Art OMI Collection, New York, USA; Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Berlin, Germany; and the Sayago & Pardon Collection, USA, among many others both private and public.

He lives and works in Mexico City, Mexico.
