Fabiola Manchelli
Fabiola Menchelli (b. Mexico City, 1983) makes photographs that draw particular attention to the materiality of light and shadow as well as the machinations — both biological and technological — of perception and image-making. By projecting digitally constructed images upon physically constructed installations, Menchelli creates complex visual spaces that intentionally confuse distinctions between the virtual and the real.
Menchelli received her MFA in 2013 from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, supported by the Fulbright - Garcia Robles Fellowship, and received her BA in Computer Mediated Arts from Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia.
Her work has been exhibited across North America and in Europe and belongs to numerous private collections worldwide.
