La Morada is a mini exhibition space for contemporary art located in Potomac, Maryland, USA.

It is meant to be a place for reflection and questioning in a very sui generis format.

La Morada is a physically permanent space, open to exhibitions from June to February. During the months of March to May, La Morada is the dwelling of a family of foxes that come every year to have their babies under it and live there for two months.

The abode measures 11’6”/3.5m (length) by 6’8”/2m (width) with a wall height of 5’3”/1.6m and ceiling peak height of 8’3”/2.5m and offers the possibility of outdoor installations as well.

La Morada in Spanish means home and is also the feminine of El Morado.

And as you know, purple is the color of support for the fight against gender violence, which will be an important part of our space.

Announcement:

The dwelling will have an open call each year, where local curators will be able to present their proposals on the basis indicated.

The selected proposal may be exhibited in the museum house as part of the program of the same year from October 1 to October 31.

The proposal must be unpublished and must include conceptual support and rationale. It should not exceed 500 words and 10 images.

Priority will be given to proposals that develop a critical aesthetic discourse. Collective or individual projects of curators or researchers in the art world will be accepted.
