Patrick Hamilton
Patrick Hamilton was born in 1974 in Louvain, Belgium. He lives and works in Santiago of Chile. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Universidad de Chile, in Santiago. In 2007 he won the Guggenheim Fellowship, John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, New York, USA. He has participated in the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) Artist in Residence Program in New York.
His work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in the United States and abroad. Exhibitions include: Paco das Artes, Sao Paulo; Centro Cultural Sao Paulo (CCSP); DKM Foundation, Duisburg, Germany; Jumex Collection, Mexico City; Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Forum (CAF), California, USA; Isola Art Center, Milán, Italia; National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seúl, Korea; Jack Shainman Gallery, New York; El Museo del Barrio, New York; Associazione Prometeo per l’Arte Contemporanea, Lucca. Italia; Henie-Onstad Kunstsenter, Oslo, Noruega; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago.
His works took part of the Emergency Pavillion, Venice Biennale (2013), Dublin Contemporary (2011), II Canary Island Biennial (2009), VIII and X Havana Biennials (2009 – 2003), II Prague Biennial (2005), XIV Sao Paulo Biennial (2004), II Mercosur Biennial (1999) and the End of the World Biennial in Ushuaia (2007), among others.
Hamilton is represented by Baró Gallery, Sao Paulo, Brazil & Gonzalez y Gonzalez, Santiago, Chile.
